Earth First

"The general principles behind Earth First! are non-hierarchical organisation and the use of direct action to confront, stop and eventually reverse the forces that are responsible for the destruction of the Earth and its inhabitants. EF! is not a cohesive group or campaign, but a convenient banner for people who share similar philosophies to work under."

These were the stirring words that Cade uttered this afternoon after receiving his first bumper sticker from an acquaintance in Colorado. In a symphony of grunts and squeels he uttered these immortal words that would make Edward Abbey proud, scared, and sad that he never had a chance to meet Cade Wedekind.

Mom's Favorite

Mom thinks this is a really cute picture of sleeping Cade, and she won't stop hassling me to post it on the blog. So here it is for the world to see.

Everbody in the bathroom sink

The whole family tried to fit in the bathroom sink the other day, but in the end Cade was the only one of us that could fit.

The Mad Pisser

Cade doesn't piss all that often, and when he does it's normally of a reasonable quantity that you would expect out of an 8lb human. However sometimes he stores up such an unbearable volume that when it finally is released it erupts like a broken water main in Central Park that wreaks havoc on all of the surrounding roads. Not only has he demonstrated an impressive ability to saturate his clothing with Mellow Yellow, but he has range that would even impress St Louis Cardinals outfielder Jim Edmonds. Here are a couple pictures of his watering grounds.

Pics with Mom

If you enlarge the top photo (click on it), you'll see Cade winking at all of his friends and relatives out there. Thanks for visiting!

Easier to post comments now

I just changed the settings so that now I don't think you have to go through the whole registration process to leave comments. This should make it a little easier. Sorry for the confusion, I didn't realize the default setting made you jump through so many hoops

Hot Off the Presses

This picture was taken less than 2 minutes ago... Enjoy it while you can!

A Range of Emotions

Let's travel back in time to a point two weeks ago. Cade has no idea what facial expressions he is making, but he is sure making some! Thanks for all the comments from the peanut gallery Jess and I really enjoy hearing from each and every one of you. The comments just let us know that you are looking at and possibly enjoying the pictures, so we'll keep putting new ones up on the this blog.

Each Post has a spot for comments

So you can comment on every post if you wish. You don't have to go all the way to the bottom. Here are a couple more full bodied Cade shots, requested and delivered!

He's getting bigger and stronger every day. At his first Doctor's appointment he had gained 16% of his body weight, not bad for a midget!

Due to Uncle Chris's request

I'm adding more pictures of Cade. U.C. was scared of the last post picture of Cade, apparently it looks like Cade is coming after the viewer. We don't want that!

My Mom (Sandee) and Grandma (Daah) were here in Dayton for a few days at the beginning of last week. They accompanied Jessica and Cade to his two week checkup, where the Doctor proclaimed that everything looked good. Following the doctor's diagnosis Grandma quickly responded that we already knew everything was perfect, Thank you very much :)!

Here are a couple pics of four generations on the Wedekind side. In one of them Cade is not smiling, so I am taking up the slack by smiling extra large.

Cade getting his workout in a few days ago. After running a few miles he likes to cool down by doing some arm circles and bicycle kicks with his legs. He also likes to practice the boxing speed bag by waving his arms frantically in front of his face.

No new pictures yet

But here's an older picture of Cade. Way back when he was 7. Seven seems so long ago, but when ages are expressed in days time really does fly by! EDIT: I tried to post a different picture but the picture is in a different directory and I can't get there from here, so maybe later tonight or tomorrow.

Because our camera battery died yesterday and we our flat out of Double A batteries at the moment updated pictures of Cade will be arriving shortly. Rest assured he is getting bigger by the day.

At the end of every post there is a "comment" button please feel free to leave comments and tell us how you are doing or if you have any poses that you would like to see Cade attempt. Ostrich riding and cattle roping have been suggested, but we're still waiting on the ostrich.

Baseball game

The Dayton Dragons game was Cade's first sporting event. I got my hand on a homerun ball, but as usual Cade stole the show.

Rollover?

Cade accomplished this monumental task today! Some would argue that the bed was slightly tilted and it shouldn't really count, but I say it counts! Give the kid the benefit of the doubt, he's only 10 days old.

Here are a couple more pics of the little one. One with his cousin Lily and one on his first geocaching expedition. He's not too awake for the geocache, but the pen he is holding is the actual cache.

Newest Addtion

You may have heard that Cade James Wedekind was born on 26 July 2005. He weighed just a pinch over 6 lbs and he was 19.5 inches long. The delivery went pretty well for dad. I'm not sure if mom and Cade feel the same or not!

Here are some pictures of the little guy. He's about 2 hours old in this first one.

And in the second one he has reached the ripe old age of 3 days!
