Happy Halloween!

Here's a little comparison. Too bad Tessa didn't have the beautiful leaves to make her picture a little more appealing. She's a cutie just the same.

Corn Maze

We took Cade and Tessa to Las Cruces's famous corn maze and pumpkin patch. There was a ton to do. We took a hay ride to a pumpkin patch and found the perfect pumpkin. There were big slides, tricycles and pedal cars to race, plus the corn maze. Cade's friend Megan joined us with her parents, Brandon and Athena. By the end of the day, Cade and Megan were seriously tired and ready for bed. But Cade was ready for more this morning; the first thing he asked to do was go back to the corn maze. Sorry no pictures of Tessa, she was sound asleep most of the time.

Camping in the Gila

Well, we have officially become car-campers. James and I geared up to do some family style camping this weekend. We are now the proud owners of a huge 6-man tent. It is 6 feet tall and large enough to host a good sized poker party inside. So on Friday morning, we loaded-up my Altima to the absolute limit and headed to the Gila Wilderness. Cade had been camping a few times and did really well but I was a little worried about how much sleep we'd get with Tessa in the tent. She was awesome. As a matter of fact, all she did was sleep. She slept in the car, on the hikes, around the fire and in the tent. Cade was also a good little camper. He enjoyed collecting wood with Daddy and roasting marshmellows. He liked going on "nice little hikes" (as he calls them) and never complained until it was time to pack up and go home. We had a great time; it was especially nice spending time together without the distractions of a phone, the Internet or a television. It was a successful trip and I'm sure we'll go again soon. If anyone ever cares to join us, we've got plenty of room in the tent!
