Morton Pumpkin Festival

While visiting the Pumpkin Capital of the World (aka Morton, IL) we took part in the annual tradition that is the Pumpkin Festival. Cade had a chance to meet some of his pops' old friends and even dressed up in his Pumpkin Fest best. In the top picture Jason Kopp has just forced Cade to shotgun his beer, and Cade now looks a little worse for the wear.

Unfortunately we never found the Elephant Ear tent, but that just leaves something to do next year.

Walk through history

Lots to blog here in Wedekindland, so lets start off with our visit to the new Lincoln Library and Museum in Springfield, IL. Cade had the chance to meet a number of famous individuals including the whole Lincoln family, Frederick Douglass (Ancestor of Don King), and the villian (John Wilkes Booth).

The celebrities were all excited to meet Cade, and many of them asked if he could sit on their shoulders. We calmly obliged to their requests.

Vacation

School's out for Summer!

and the Wedekind family is off to central IL and the north woods. When we return we'll have pictures out the wazzoo and plenty of new material for the blog, but for now here are a couple of pictures of Little Hayduke to keep you interested. Next post probably won't be for two weeks...

Greek Fest

Dayton offered a number of interesting social options this weekend. Italian fest and Greek fest dominated different parts of the city, and one could even find some bad karaoke options. The Wedekind family chose the Greek Fest because we already have pasta and bocce ball at our house.

What followed included friends and fun, documented in a couple of pictures.

Friends and Family

The star of the show made it back to OH and would like to share pictures of some of the friends and family members that he met in NM. The rumor is that Cade enjoyed his first Greek Festival last night. Lots of Gyros and Ouzo, but no pictures to share yet.

Fun In New Mexico!

Cade and I had lots of fun in New Mexico! He went on his first plane ride, learned how to smile and even went to Kindergarden. He met Great-grandma Loucks and lots of other friends and family. But he missed his daddy a lot and saved his cutest smiles and cooing for when he saw him Wednesday night.

Lost Child

If anyone sees a child that looks like the one on this website please notify me. His mother has taken him to New Mexico, and I believe his grandparents there are attempting to kidnap him. They believe he is "cute" and have been showing him to all their friends and neighbors in an attempt to convince him to stay in New Mexico. DO NOT, DO NOT allow this to happen!

Hopefully his trans-national journey has been well documented in photograhs, so that if/when he returns to Ohio there will be some good updates to this 'ere blog.
